It Pays To Know What You Are Asking!

Lincoln Douglas debate The notion of a Lincoln Douglas was raised recently by Clinton in relation to the current primaries. Well as Justin Gardner pointed out correctly she probably didn’t ask for the exact format. Can you imagine that back then people actually sat and listened carefully for each other for a whole hour and more. Can you imagine yourself having the patience and the concentration to listen to a three hours debate without interruptions? There were some things in our history as the ability to really listen, talk and communicate without the constant need for interruptions and distractions. I suppose no TV culture can tolerate these kind of debates anymore but thinking of these debates I feel that the time frame is not crucial. The idea of reviving this kind of debates even with shorter speeches can really be interesting.
