Regarding inidans especially, the french and the english, followed quite different policies. why? how did each country advance their purposes? What long-term results grew out of each nation's approach?

Winnie, great questions. A good starting point for learning more about it -

I personally think that while applying different policies (the French and the Brits) they were both after having power (like: duh!) - only obtaining it in a different method.
